February is the shortest month of the year, and that’s OK considering it was brutally cold and snowy for a majority of those 28 days here in Chicago. So let’s move on, shall we?
But before we jump into March, let’s reminisce about some of my favorite things from February.
Ham and Cheese Croissants from Bake Chicago
Double Daisy Cutter from Half Acre Beer Company
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams at Home cookbook
Jumbo Doughnut from Glazed and Infused

That is a really freakin big donut…. I want! And I imagine the cold would suck if you couldn’t escape it, but I have to say, the cold week I had in Chicago over Christmas was one of the best weeks of my life! I’d give just about anything to be back there right now!
Chicago’s a great city, that’s for sure. The winters can be horrible but we make up for it with the great summers!
You had me at croissants. I’ll have to check this place out the next time I’m in the Midwest 🙂
Absolutely! Everything they make is amazing.
I had a lovely time enjoying decadent cups of hot chocolate from The Coffee House in Dallas, Texas! The creamy, sweet hot chocolate was perfect for an unseasonably cold February in Dallas, but I won’t let that stop me from having cups well into Spring!! Thanks for your post!!
The ice cream cookbook looks especially useful for the upcoming months. Will have to check it out, thanks!
That ham and cheese croissant looks delicious – I absolutely love those, especially in France! There, they add in some béchamel sauce ^^

I definitely need to add some of these places to my list for when I visit Chicago!
